What is partial lining? Also called cuff or Spot Repair?

ree

A sewer system may have occasional defects in its pipes.

To sustainably reinforce these mechanical weaknesses, a quick and economical solution has been devised: cuff or Spot Repair.

. When should it be used? What are the advantages of this technique? Explained in this article

Partial lining applied manually

Partial lining or spot repair involves placing a protective coating over a cracked pipe to ensure its watertightness. The partial structural lining consists of fiberglass mats weighing around 1040 g/m2. This mat is impregnated with resin. This can be polyurethane or epoxy resin.

Resistant to chemical attack, high pH and temperature, epoxy or silicate resins are preferred in extreme situations.

This resin-impregnated mattress is then wrapped around an inflatable sleeve, hence the name spot repair.

This repair patch is inserted into the pipe for repair, pre-cleaned by 3D robot. It is pushed until it reaches the defect.

The next step is to inflate the sleeve to fill the void. This action causes part of the liner to adhere to the inner wall of the pipe, allowing the resin to polymerize. Once polymerization is complete, the sleeve is deflated and removed from the wastewater network.

Advantages of the partial coating or spot repair structure

Partial structural lining is one of the quickest and most economical processes, as it requires no trenching.

Ideal for prolonging the life of the drainage system, this restoration technique is very precise:

All activities are monitored by a video camera. At the end of the job, the camera can check that the sleeve is in place. Flow tests are also scheduled to ensure that reconditioned pipes are correctly repaired.

. Spot Repair or cuff when can you use it?

You can use a partial liner in the following cases:

Repair cracks, breaks and perforations in pipes;

Sealing defective joints;

Prevents roots from penetrating the drainage system;

Sealing out-of-service connections

The sleeve or partially structural sleeve can be used on drainpipes, drainpipe casings, air ducts, etc.

How much does a piece of structural cladding cost?

The cost of the liner depends in part on the material to be repaired and the number of meters of pipe repaired. Other parameters that influence the price of the liner are the diameter of the pipe and the drying time. Docteur Canalisation's Spot repair simple starts from 1490 € ALL TAXES INCLUDED
